Alyx's Journal

Alyx struggles with her weight and is relearning to eat instinctively with Am I Hungry?

7 hours in a restaurant
Posted on 09/30/2009 @ 3:09 PM

Oh, boy, 7 hours in a restaurant on Sunday. I was there for a social event but, still, 7 hours in a restaurant. And, of course, we were expected to partake… I started with breakfast (I’d had a piece of toast a few hours earlier), because by the time I got there I’d been up for hours and I was hungry. Ate enough so that I wasn’t hungry, but not full, because I wanted to be sharp for the day’s events. Had coffee, two scrambled eggs with a smidge (less than a tbsp) of grated cheese, one sausage link, and about a cup of potato salad. I felt decadent and righteous: potato salad for breakfast (decadent); but no hash browns (righteous). I set aside one of those really cute little fudge mini-cupcakes, about an inch and half all the way around (and ate it about an hour later). Much later (4-5 hours) I realized I was hungry, so I had a nice small salad (very yummy). It’s amazing how even the most mundane food tastes good when you’re hungry. Overall, pretty good for spending 7 hours in a restaurant.
